About Us

Kingdom of the Little Friends is a Southern Ontario home-based aviary featuring only apartment-suitable, child-friendly birds.

We have five young babies from Snow and Ireland.  One dark green female, 1 turquoise male, and 2 green males.  These babies will be ready for their new homes by end of May.

All babies are hand-raised from 14-17 days, and then are abundance weaned onto a variety of cooked grains, rice, beans, pasta, a variety of fresh vegetables and fruit, and pellets.  Babies cannot be taken home until they are fully weaned.  They are handled frequently, both by children and adults, and love people.  All babies come with a 7 day money-back health guarantee.  Any reported difficulties must be verified by a certified avian veterinarian.

Linnie Pricing:

Please note that the following prices include DNA testing.  All babies except creaminos and lutinos come with DNA sexing.

Olives: 150$ Canadian
Blues--Sky Blue and Cobalt: 200$ Canadian

Slates--225$ Canadian
Creamino and Lutino females: 275$ Canadian

In addition to the above prices are any applicable shipping cost. This would include the actual price of shipping  + 35$ Canadian  for bird carrier.

The Lineolated Parakeet. AKA: Catharine’s Parakeet, Barred Parakeet, Lineo, and Linnie . . .

This little-known member of the parrot family is fast becoming a very popular choice for bird enthusiasts. It is a smaller bird, comparable in size to the Budgie, but unlike the other smaller parrots, the Linnie’s playfulness, its curiosity, and its tendency to hold food and toys in its feet make it far more parrot-like in behavior.

The Linnie can be further described as friendly, fun-loving, peaceful, non-destructive and—QUIET! A hand-raised Linnie has a better disposition than any other pet bird I am familiar with, and it doesn't require nearly as much human attention as most members of the parrot family to stay entertained, sweet, and friendly. It can peacefully live with other birds—either other Linnies, or other small birds, and still remain tame. For these reasons, Linnies make perfect pets for children.

In summary, if you live in an apartment or have children, or if you just wish to have a great companion that will keep you entertained, a Lineolated Parakeet may be the best bird for you!
